                                    Identify that and prepare for that!
 
Stay informed:
    local news, weather updates, and emergency alerts
 
Secure your home:
        Reinforce doors and windows,
        Install security cameras or alarms,
        Establish a neighborhood watch system to deter potential threats.
 
Stockpile essential supplies:
        Water - may get cut off to the building
                    Broken lines, huge fire greatly reducing the water pressure
        Stockpile Non-perishable food
            TP, Hygiene supplies, cleaning supplies
 
Grow some vegetables & herbs
    Container gardening
        Patio,
        Back porch
        Balcony
        Back yard - if you have it

Learn urban foraging:
    to supplement your food supply if necessary
    Familiarize yourself with edible plants in urban environments.
 
Know your surroundings:
Familiarize yourself with your city's layout,
        Landmarks,
        Evacuation routes, and
        Potential danger zones.
                    Gang concentrations
 
Practice situational awareness:
        Stay vigilant and observant:
        of your surroundings
        identify potential threats
        escape routes in urban settings.
         
 During an emergency:
        Maintain a low profile:
                Avoid attracting attention during emergencies by
                minimize noise, light,
             Blend in:
        Be the gray man,
        Avoid drawing attention to yourself
        Dress inconspicuously and
        Blend into your surroundings during a crisis.
                        Look like everyone else, act like everyone else
 
 Prepare for power outages:
        Have alternative power sources
        portable generators or
        solar chargers
        Make a lights out kit
        Flashlights
        LED Lanterns
        Extra batteries for every device.
 
 Create a bug-out plan:
        Develop a comprehensive evacuation plan
        including multiple routes and meeting points.
         
        Determine when you will be able to stay and when you must leave.
                    Decide this ahead of time
                    Job loss or supply chain issues, stay
                    Massive riots in the city – time to go
                                Probably somewhere in between
         Not all “stuff-hits-the-fan” are Mad Max scenarios
                        Prepare for the things most likely to happen to YOU
 
Pack a urban-focused bug-out bag, or get-home-bag:
        A city map
        Compass
        cash,
        Lightweight food options,
        Personal water filter
        Sturdy footwear
        A multi-tool
        Rain gear, emergency blanket
        First aid kit
        A Weapon if allowed
 
Secure reliable communication:
    Have multiple means of communication
    charged cell phone,
    two-way radios,
    whistle to signal for help if needed
 
 
Establish community connections:
    Build relationships with neighbors
                Help each other in times of need
                Communications buddy – to check on each other
 
 
Plan for sanitation:
     Develop a plan for waste disposal and personal hygiene
     in case municipal services are disrupted during emergencies.

                        Liners
            Five gal bucket w/ pool noodle
                        Put liner in the bucket, THEN put the pool noodle on
 
Stay flexible:
    Be prepared to adapt your plans
             based on evolving situations and changing circumstances in urban environments.
    
Stay mentally resilient:
    Develop coping strategies to manage stress, anxiety, and uncertainty during urban survival scenarios.

Practice fire safety:
    Be aware of fire hazards in urban environments and have fire extinguishers, smoke detectors, and a fire escape plan in place.
